I decided to create TorchStep because the current Bible app market is flooded with get-rich-quick schemes from companies using the same shady, predatory practices I despise. They are riddled with ads, and many of them are simply generic conversational bots that lack any of the "spirit" you would receive from speaking with an actual Christian.
In my own journey to follow Christ, I found myself asking tools like ChatGPT or Gemini for clarification on scripture. I quickly realized the theology those models present is based more on current societal standards than the standards set by God. I wanted to build a tool that people can trust is giving clean, biblical theology without the noise of society guiding its responses.

Hi, I'm Ryan. I grew up in a small town and have been passionate about technology since I was in grade school. I fixed my first computer at 8 years old and had my first contract to build a website by the time I was 13.
To be completely honest, I spent years living a life that was contrary to God's intent. I was deeply immersed in secular media, and I learned firsthand how social media, video games, and current tech environments mold your mind based on algorithms, distort reality, and most importantly, turn you away from God.
Eventually, Christ opened my eyes. He lit a fire under my feet to spread the good word of the Bible and to make a safe, clean tech space for people who carry Christian values. I feel a heavy obligation to reverse the negative influence I used to participate in, to be a good steward of God's word, and to set an example that even someone like me can be saved and used for His purpose.
I am making this pledge because I believe in tithing. I want to make it clear that I did not build Cornerstone Interactive just to make money—I could honestly care less about how much money I make. My main goal is to create a clean tech ecosystem for Christians.
Once TorchStep reaches our initial operational milestone of 100 active paid subscribers, Cornerstone Interactive will pledge to tithe 10% of all net subscription proceeds. I want users to feel like they are participating directly in this stewardship.
Paid members can create their own tithing requests—whether it's a personal issue like a sick family member, or a larger verified Christian non-profit they wish to support.
All paid users will vote on where they want the 10% tithe to go each month, giving the community direct control over our giving.
